Through the Scholar Program, girls who are about to finish high school and graduate from the foster home can apply for scholarships. These scholarships can be used to go to college, trade school, learn life skills, get counseling and anything else they need to enter adulthood successfully.
The girls who join the Scholar Program come from Hogar Esmeralda, a foster home located in the Paraguayan countryside town of Quyquyho. It houses girls who have been separated from their families because of abuse, neglect, and other family hardships.
“My achievements would not be possible without your help. Amigos de Paraguay helped me not only financially but also in so many other areas…I am very grateful. My dreams are in the hands of God and your organization.”
-Margaret Cabrera, Graduate Program Scholar
Want to become an Amigo? There are many ways! You can attend our meetings, donate towards our programs, or even visit Paraguay to connect with the girls and learn more about their life goals.
